By Journal Staff | on September 21, 2022 Prairie Trails School, the early learning center for River Trails School Dist. 26 in Mount Prospect, which also serves portions of Des Plaines and Prospect Heights, earned a 2022 Merit Award from the Illinois Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ILASLA) for the school's natural playground. The playground design was part of a recent renovation of the school that was completed in 2021. Among the playground's amenities are a climbing wall, sand pits and outdoor learning spaces.
