Alan David Bayer of Des Plaines Alan David Bayer, 68, died on May 18. Bayer was a longtime employee of the Journal & Topics. He was active in the Optimist Club of Des Plaines and was a dedicated White Sox fan. He was the son of Raymond and Evelyn Bayer, and leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral arrangements provided by Oehler Funeral Home, Des Plaines. George Brill of Des Plaines George Brill, 90, died on May 11. He served in the U.S. Army Artillery Unit at Fort Still for two years.
