Two Mount Prospect Elementary School Dist. 57 staff members — Danielle Crandall and Steve Shaffer — will receive Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) awards in late April. In early February, ISBE announced the names of awardees who will be honored at the 49th Annual Those Who Excel & Teacher of the Year Awards Banquet on April 29. ISBE has sponsored the Those Who Excel & Teacher of the Year program since 1970. This program honors educators who have 'made significant contributions to the state's public and nonpublic elementary and secondary schools,' according to ISBE's website.
